Happy Women's day to you all!!! March 8th, International Women's Day!!
1913-1914
As part of the peace movement brewing on the eve of World War I, Russian women observed their first International Women's Day on the last Sunday in February 1913. Elsewhere in Europe, on or around 8 March of the following year, women held rallies either to protest the war or to express solidarity with their sisters.
1917
With 2 million Russian soldiers dead in the war, Russian women again chose the last Sunday in February to strike for "bread and peace". Political leaders opposed the timing of the strike, but the women went on anyway. The rest is history: Four days later the Czar was forced to abdicate and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote. That historic Sunday fell on 23 February on the Julian calendar then in use in Russia, but on 8 March on the Gregorian calendar in use elsewhere.

Any way, will you do anything special? I remeber when I started my first job, my boss Ellen, really thoughtful, always celebrated this special day, 3/8, with all women in the team. Every year she bought some small gifts to all women, such as lipsticks, facial cream, pen, etc. Male colleagues sometimes got some gifts as well, but not always. One year my boss bought a very personal item, sanity pads! To avoid getting embarrassed, she gift-wrapped all of them. At that time, we welcomed a new colleage, Dan, who just graduated from college. He walked into the office and found the gifts on all women's table. Immediately he questioned, Hey, why you all got the gifts, except me? We all laughed loudly! Ellen openned the gift. Dan screamed with flushed face and ran out! hahagaga!!
It's good to be a woman and celebrate March 8th every year!!!
By the way, I just heard Ann Romney's life story! What a women!! She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998 and breast cancer in 2008...Life must have been very difficult with one after another one life threaten health issues....
Benefits-chicken is a great source of protein, low fat. This recipe is light, low salt, but rich in flavors!! Carrots contain high Vitamin A, 41% of daily value( only from 15g carrots), great for eyes, look further, brighter, shinier...so after you have this chicken stew, you can walk in dark without lights because your eyes look like two beams in the dark, like cats, kidding!! hahagaga!
One thing people normally do not know is that Vitamin A is not water dissolvable, which means it needs to be cooked with oil or meat in order for your body to obsorb Vitamin A. If you eat raw carrots, it's good for you too as it has low calories, zero cholestrerol. Carrots are great snack foods for weightloss
